FAIRFAX, Va.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--April 27, 2005--ManTech International Corporation (Nasdaq:MANT), a leading provider of innovative technologies and solutions focused on mission-critical national security programs for the Intelligence Community and the Departments of Defense, State, Homeland Security, Justice and other U.S. federal government customers announced today that George J. Pedersen, the company's Chairman of the Board and Chief Executive Officer, has received the National Defense Industrial Association (NDIA) 2005 James Forrestal Industry Leadership Award.
The NDIA award is given annually to an industry executive who has demonstrated a record of business accomplishment and has been active in helping to preserve and strengthen the nation's defense industrial base. Mr. Pedersen was chosen for his "astute business judgment, keen political instincts and a broad understanding of the vital role the industrial base plays in ensuring the nation's security," according to NDIA. The award has been presented annually since 1992. Previous winners include J. Robert Beyster, Founder and former Chairman of the Board and President, SAIC (2004); Thomas W. Rabaut, President and CEO, United Defense L.P. (2003); Dr. Vance D. Coffman, Chairman of the Board, and former CEO, Lockheed Martin Corporation (2002); Harry C. Stonecipher, former President and CEO, Boeing Company (2001); and Philip A. Odeen, former Executive Vice President, DC Operations, TRW, Inc., and later TRW Chairman of the Board (2000).
Mr. Pedersen co-founded ManTech in 1968. Through Mr. Pedersen's leadership, ManTech has grown to become one of the U.S. government's leading providers of innovative technologies and solutions for mission-critical national security programs.
