Author Storms the Nation with ''Storm Dragon,'' the First Book in a New Trilogy for Wizards of the Coast
Acclaimed game creator James Wyatt continues his streak of big news for
the month. Two weeks ago, Wizards of the Coast announced the upcoming
release of the highly anticipated D&D® 4th
Edition, for which Wyatt is a lead designer. Today, Wyatt’s
novel "Storm Dragon”
goes on sale, much to the delight of fans. Attendees at the Gen Con show
in Indianapolis earlier this month lined up for first editions signed by
the author.
The book marks the beginning of a new trilogy for publisher Wizards of
the Coast. The company is particularly proud of the book–not
just because the budding author comes from within its ranks–but
also because it’s the first book in The
Draconic Prophecies series for the EBERRON®
line.
"'Storm Dragon' is an adventure that’s
sure to grip genre and mainstream readers alike,”
said Elena Johnston, Brand Manager of Book Publishing for Wizards of the
Coast. "It’s
complete with well developed characters, gripping plot turns, and a
hefty dose of action, of course.”
In the story, Gaven d’Lyrandar is a war hero
whose mind has been broken by the wonders he witnessed on his last
mission for his nation. After spending twenty-six years in the deepest,
darkest prison scrawling prophetic dreams onto walls and ceilings, Gaven
is rescued and released by a band of strangers. As he comes to terms
with these strangers’ agendas, which aren’t
exactly noble, Gaven realizes the magic relic that broke his
once-brilliant mind is key to saving himself and stopping worldwide
destruction.
The next two books in the series are forthcoming. Wyatt is currently
hard at work on the next book in the series–as
he says, "writing like a screaming maniac.” About James Wyatt
