Ariba Expands Procurement Functionality for the Mid-Market
Ariba, Inc. (Nasdaq:ARBA), the leading spend management solutions
provider, is expanding its procurement functionality for the mid-market.
Today, the company is launching Ariba®
Express Content, a solution that delivers pre-enabled catalogs from
leading suppliers to help companies of all sizes source indirect goods
and services more quickly and cost-effectively. The offering is
available as part of Ariba's procurement offerings, which have been
rated among the best overall eProcurement solutions by an independent
research firm (The Forrester Wave™:
eProcurement Solutions, Q2 2007, Forrester Research, Inc., April 2007).
"One of the greatest challenges that
procurement organizations face, particularly at mid-sized companies, is
enabling their suppliers to do business electronically. And as a result,
they struggle to gain clear visibility into and full control over their
spend,” said Rick Collison, Director,
Solutions Marketing, Ariba. "Through Ariba’s
Express Content catalogs, buyers can overcome this challenge by gaining
quick access to high quality suppliers who are already equipped to do
business online. Leveraging the catalogs, they can drive rapid time to
savings, high adoption, and compliance with negotiated contracts and
purchasing policies.” Rapid Enablement, Fast Results
Embedded across Ariba’s procurement offerings,
including Ariba®
Buyer™, Ariba
Procure-to-Pay™ and
Ariba Procurement Content™,
Ariba’s Express Content catalogs provide fast
access to goods and services across a wide range of indirect spend
categories, including:
• Knowledge Products and Services
• Office Identification Products & Displays
• Office Equipment
• Custom Office Products (Rubber Stamps,
Nameplates, Badges and Banners)
• Electrical/ Electronics
• Industrial Supplies and MRO
• Print Products and Services
• Cellular Accessories & Equipment
• Office Supplies
• Life Sciences and Chemicals
• Pharmaceutical Products and Equipment
• Computer Hardware/Networking
• Software
• Paper Goods & Packaging
• Travel and Hotels
• Promotional Goods (Apparel, Luggage,
Personal Care)
• Facilities and Material Handling Services
• Recreational Equipment and Accessories
• Health Care Services
• Transportation, Storage, Mail Services
• Temporary Workforce
Using the catalogs, buyers can more effectively manage the procurement
of indirect categories, rein in maverick spend and ultimately improve
their bottom line.
"Given the scale of the Ariba Supplier Network™,
suppliers also stand to reap substantial benefits,”
said Don Darby, Director, Supplier Solutions, Ariba. "By
enabling their catalogs through Ariba’s
Express Content program, suppliers can drive incremental business from
the companies who use the network to process more than $100 billion in
spend each year.”
Recognizing this opportunity, many leading suppliers have already
enabled their catalogs through Ariba, including: EBSCO Information
Services®, Siegel®
Display Products, Newark Electronics, Telepress, Inc., MarkMaster, Inc.,
Fastenal Company, Cellular Accessories For Less and others.
"Through our partnership with Ariba,
Telepress has realized opportunities that would have been difficult to
achieve on our own,” said Tricia Johnson,
Director of eCommerce, Telepress, Inc. "Our
success with Ariba has provided us confidence that the Express Content
program will serve to create additional revenue with new customers as
well as to strengthen our position in the marketplace as an industry
leader. We also realize how our customers and prospects benefit from
utilizing the proven and effective solution provided by Telepress and
Ariba.” Availability
Ariba’s Express Content catalogs are
available and in use today as part of Ariba’s
Procurement solutions. In addition, the catalogs integrate seamlessly
with ERP and other non-Ariba procurement systems, allowing buyers to
maximize the value of their technology investments and enhance and
accelerate the results that their spend management programs deliver.
