Akamai Technologies Inc Profit Advances 6% In Q1

(RTTNews) - Akamai Technologies Inc (AKAM) announced earnings for its first quarter that increased from last year.

The company said its bottom line climbed to $117.78 million, or $0.66 per share. This was up from $111.18 million, or $0.61 per share, in last year's first quarter.

Analysts had expected the company to earn $0.63 per share, according figures compiled by Thomson Reuters. Analysts' estimates typically exclude special items.

The company said revenue for the quarter rose 7.8% to $567.73 million. This was up from $526.54 million last year.
